EXCURSIONS BY BOAT

We offer several half and full day excursions by boat for those of you already in The Gambia or coming with another operator. If you do not see what you are looking for contact us by e-mail with your requests and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. We can also offer you 2 nights and longer exploring the river Gambia by boat up to Tendaba Camp incorporating the wonderful Bintang Bolong staying in their water bungalows and visiting the village schools. see "overnight and longer"

HALF DAY CREEK CRUISING
Board a delightful two storey African Pirogue Boat and spend half a day sailing the tranquil creeks from Denton Bridge. Sunbathe on the upper deck, watch the abundant birdlife and the local woman collecting oysters from the mangroves in their tiny dug-out canoes whilst sipping a cool refreshing drink. A wonderfully relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle.

FULL DAY CREEK CRUISING
Sail the wonderfully tranquil creeks as above but head to the delightful Lamin Lodge for a buffet lunch before returning to your African Pirogue to further explore the creeks around the Lodge.

SUNSET CRUISE (Tuesdays, 4pm - 10pm)
Join your boat at Denton Bridge and sail the glorious creeks and Bolongs to the wonderful Lamin Lodge as the sun sets over the horizon. A great time to see the abundant birdlife. You will be met at the Lodge by Local dancers and drummers who will entertain you throughout your buffet dinner. After dinner, your transport awaits you to take you back to the hotels by road.

"ROOTS" BY BOAT - Full Day
A beautiful stilted house. Join your boat at the Port of Banjul and cruise to Juffureh, Albreda and James Island, home of the Slave Trade in a bygone era. The village of Juffureh made famous by the author, ALEX HALEY in his novel "ROOTS" where he is said to have traced his ancestry to. You will visit the SLAVE MUSEUM with its many artifacts which is a moving insight into the slaving history of The Gambia. During your cruise, a Breakfast roll with coffee is served in the morning, buffet lunch and afternoon tea and biscuits. Drinks are available at a reasonable cost. Dolphins are often spotted as we cruise up the river, often following the boat for some time.
